Cynthia’s Picks: Sarah Finn, Ava Duvernay, Olivia Wilde

Sarah Finn: Casting Director Sarah Finn may the true superhero of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – she cast more than a thousand actors in almost every single Marvel film since the first Iron Man– including all of the stars. It was a unique challenge that required thinking how the cast members might overlap in the future, work with different directors, and age (or not!) over time.

Ava Duvernay: I can’t wait to watch Ava Duvernay’s When They See Us about the Central Park Five. It’s such an an important story – and I hear that the series is phenomenal!

Olivia Wilde: The actor talks about making her directorial debut with the buzzed about female coming-of-age film Booksmart. “It is remarkable that I am 35 years old and this is the first job I’ve ever had that wasn’t entirely dependent on and connected to my looks,” she said. “It grosses me out to acknowledge it, but I’ve been thinking a lot about it.”
