Pilot season is here. If you’re feeling left behind or like you need to catch up, that’s OK.
Maybe you haven’t had a chance to figure out what you want to do or bring about this year. Give yourself some time to set clear intentions for 2014. It’s never to late to get clarity and set goals.
Getting ready:
- Get cozy, make some yummy food, put on your favorite music. Do whatever you need to feel comfortable, inspired, and creative.
- Crack open your favorite journal and let the ink flow.
Writing it down:
- What are 3-5 intentions you would like to set for your acting career this year?
- Who are 5-10 people in your life that can help you make it happen?
- Who are 5-10 people in the world that can help you make it happen?
- Next, break each intention into 3-5 actions that you can take to move toward accomplishing the intention.
- What are some things you learned in 2013 that you would like to bring into 2014?
- With this “roadmap” laid out in front of you, what is the word, theme song, or image that sums up your plan for 2014?
Sometimes all it takes is a little time to get quiet, focus, and set an intention to feel a little more grounded with where you’re going in your acting career.

Welcome to NYWIFT, Zineb Oukach! Zineb is a Moroccan actress, writer, and filmmaker. She began her acting career in Morocco before moving to Paris to study theater at Le Cours Florent. She later relocated to New York City, where she has worked across film and television, including the feature film Rendition alongside Reese Witherspoon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Meryl Streep and Alan Arkin. Welcome to NYWIFT, Jaime Schwarz! Jaime Schwarz grew up in NJ, the daughter of a Korean immigrant mother and son of Holocaust- survivors, father. Jaime earned her BFA in Acting from PACE University in NYC, appearing Off- Broadway in The Doctor at the Park Avenue Armory and on TV in Difficult People (Hulu), Younger (Paramount+), Jane the Virgin (The CW), Sorry for Your Loss, and Elsbeth (CBS). She is the director, writer, and star of the short film The Sandwich Line, which premiered at the Oscar-qualifying Indy Shorts International Film Festival, and her other writing work has been published in Mixed Asian Media and JoySauce. She’s currently developing several projects and is repped by Gersh + MJ Management. In our interview, Jaime discussed her journey from acting to directing and shared her experience of working in TV.

In addition to their on-screen work, Hayley has self-produced original projects through their experimental marching band theatre company, The Teeny Tiny Music Show, and has designed for numerous film, TV, and theatre productions across Canada. A graduate of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and York University’s BFA in Devised Theatre & Design, Hayley brings a dynamic and multidisciplinary approach to their artistry. We caught up with Hayley to discuss their career, their creative journey, and what brought them to NYWIFT.
