A Meeting With Cynthia Kane

NYWIFT members are invited to meet with Cynthia Kane, Program Manager, International Media Development Fund – ITVS.

Cynthia will give an overview of  the different ITVS programs and then will discuss the International Media Development Fund.  She will provide information on objectives, eligibility, and the application process and also provide participants with examples from the first funding round in 2006.

In order to ensure that participants have time for individual questions, this presentation is limited to 30 participants.

Cynthia Kane recently became a member of the ITVS programming team. She began her career as an actress before joining the Sundance Channel in the summer of 1999, where she worked in acquisitions and as a documentary programmer.  During her tenure, she championed the celebrated series The Staircase, as well as the Emmy Award-winning documentary In Rwanda We Say the Family That Does Not Speak Dies. Instrumental in the creation of DOCday, she also programmed world cinema and produced on-air specials. In 2006, Kane also worked as producer on the documentaries To Be Heard, Who’s Afraid of Lynne Stewart?, Ice People and Tasting Terra Madre, while continuing as a consultant for Sundance Channel, Cactus Three, LINK TV and iThentic: Made-for-Mobile.
