Packaging & Selling Your Television Series

Hear the insider's take on the most effective ways to package and sell an original television series, including pitfalls to avoid and how to position yourself for maximum creative involvement.

This interactive panel will give you the secrets to casting the strongest characters, shooting the most compelling sizzle reels and pitching strategies to ensure a sale. Through firsthand experience, these insiders will share what has made them successful from concept to sale — by maximizing their network relationships, creating winning collaborations and trusting their creative instincts.

Ra Kumar
represents a variety of on-air talent and producers for network television, cable and syndication with a focus on reality programming. Prior to joining N.S. Bienstock, Kumar spent the last decade working as a television packaging agent at APA, Paradigm and The Kaplan Stahler Agency in Los Angeles. He also held various production positions with Warner Brothers Television and Fox World.

Caroline Perez
is a development and production executive at Destination America, part of the portfolio of Discovery brands. Perez joined Discovery in 2009 as Director of Production for TLC, where she oversaw creative and production of hit series Four Weddings, Extreme Couponing and DC Cupcakes. Prior to Discovery, Perez served as Director of Development & Production at VH-1 in NY, executive producing pilots and series including Celebrity Fit Club and World Series of Pop Culture.  Previously, she held several roles at NBC, working as an NBC Page, and later, in the East Coast Programming & Development Department.

Ed Simpson
is head of business development at Leftfield Pictures. Simpson oversees development and branded entertainment deals alongside monetizing existing rights, establishing new revenues streams and developing third-party relationships.? A veteran producer from the UK, his unique background encompasses TV development and production as well as finance, marketing and brand partnerships. Before joining Leftfield, Simpson's credits included ABC’s Wife Swap, Nanny 911 and most recently, VH-1′s Why am I Still Single?! He also served as executive producer of development at the BBC in New York.

Moderator Jim Arnoff is a television packaging agent who represents New York production companies, developing and selling original programming to the networks. Arnoff has worked at the William Morris Agency as both an in-house lawyer and packaging agent. A certified life coach for the entertainment industry, he has lead workshops for the Producers Guild of America, National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, HBO, MTV Networks and the Writers Guild of America. He is also a faculty member of the School of Visual Arts and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).
