takes place during the night of the 1939 Academy Awards. Bette has been nominated for Best Actress for
Dark Victory
. Sharing the nomination with Bette is Vivien Leigh for her portrayal of Scarlett O’Hara in

Juarez
the next morning and “why stay if I know I’m not going to win.” What ensues is an internal dialogue of Bette’s memories with historically accurate details, as well as an insight into the struggle and fight of a young 30-year-old Bette, whose voice would not be quelled. Bette Davis AIN'T a drag queen in Jessica Sherr's brilliant portrayal of the legendary icon. This show will take you on a trip into the mind of one of Hollywood’s greatest stars! See what happens when someone who always wants to win....loses.
Bette Davis Ain't For Sissies
was an official selection of FringeNYC and was one of three shows asked to perform in The Fringe Make-Up Series at the Laurie Beechman. The show just received an excellent review from
Times Square Chronicles
.
