Mary Ellen actually began her interest in film while living and traveling abroad in Holland. She got firsthand knowledge of the Cannes Film Festival while in France.

Mary Ellen started out in theater with starring roles in Productions up at West Point New York while in college. She continued acting in theater productions while moving around US army bases. She moved back to North Carolina in late 1980’s and obtained an agent here in NC where she starred in leading roles at Theater in the Park as well as the Raleigh Little Theater. Mary Ellen also could be seen roles in video, commercials and Independent Films

She became very active in the NC Independent Film Festivals raising the funds and helping plan the event. She had several acting roles in indie films.

In 1994 Mary Ellen not only raised the funds for the Indie Film “Bandwagon”, but also secured the key locations, the supporting actors and had a supporting role in the film. The film got into Sundance film festival was sold to Lakeshore Entertainment and has been seen worldwide.

She has other projects in various stages of development and is a credited associate producer on the Christmas Film” Holly Jingles and Clyde” currently being produced by Collective Development of Lansing Michigan.

Mary Ellen took time off to raise her family and is now back in full blown green light mode to bring the feature film, “TRIUMPH”, inspired by the true life story of the Legendary Late NC State women’s Basketball coach Kay Yow to life. She has just completed writing and publishing the book “Triumph inspired by the true life story of legendary Coach Kay Yow”.

Mary Ellen is a breast cancer survivor and Kay’s fight against breast cancer hit home. She is passionate about bringing this story of hope, inspiration and faith to the big screen.
