Full Bio
Rabia Sultana is a British-Pakistani Archaeologist turned Filmmaker. Born and raised in East London, she performed on stage at the renowned Stratford Theatre and Criterion Theatre, UK before studying Archaeology at the University of Sheffield.
Rabia's first independent project as writer/director was Rosetta's Blues which screened at the Cannes Court Metrage, Long Island Film Festival and LA Femme International Film Festival, amongst others.
Since moving to NYC, she has produced the award-winning feature film Extra Innings starring Aiden P. Brennan (The Punisher, The Secret), Geraldine Singer (Greenbook, Mudbound) and Mara Kassin (Curfew, Cul-de-Sac) who she has gone on to collaborating with on a number of short film projects, including Ladies Lounge and the Spring-Fling Shorts with FIt Club theatre company.
Rabia's short film Interference (NBC/Universal Film Festival, BAM Cinematek s New Voices in Black Cinema) is available on Amazon. Ladies Lounge (Mara Kassin, Lynn Cohen and Friendly Neighborhood Coven , starring Tonye Patano (Showtime s Weeds) and Sally Struthers (All in the Family, Gilmore Girls) are circulating festival circuit.
She recently wrapped Just Chicken , starring Catherine Curtin, Josh Ruben and Danny Johnson.
Rabia has also worked as both producer and assistant director on several projects including feature films The Truth about Santa Claus (Gilbert Gottfried, Michael Winslow, Judy Gold) and Angelfish (Princess Nokia) and is available on VOD.
