Steffie van Rhee is a documentary filmmaker & producer from Amsterdam, located in New York. As a freelancer, she works both in the US and the Netherlands and is mainly focused on social & women's issues.





She's the associate producer of Cynthia Lowen's feature documentary NETIZENS (Tribeca, Hot Docs 2018) about online harassment & women. Currently Steffie is developing her first mid length documentary as a director, dealing with the topics of representation and gender disparity in media and producing narrative short SWIPE, an online dating horror story (dir Niels Bourgonje, BNN/VARA, 2019). As a researcher and producer she worked on the upcoming doc projects AT ALL COSTS (dir Juul Op Den Kamp, VPRO, 2019), set in the high pressure arena of NY academics, and THE RISING TIDE (NTR/WIT FILM, 2019), about climate change and the rising sea levels world wide.
