Full Bio
Romina was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she began her artistic career as a classical dancer. At 15, she moved to New York City on her own to study at the School of American Ballet and later at The Juilliard School and the William Esper Studio, for music and Meisner acting technique, respectively. During this time, she began appearing in films, television series, and commercials.

Inspired by her mother - a successful Argentine director, actress, and singer - and her father - an award-winning photographer, Romina developed a passion for visual storytelling at a young age.

Her directorial debut, How a Man Gets Ready - a spec commercial/micro-short she also wrote, produced, and starred in - earned her a spot among the top emerging directors of 2014 in Shoot Magazine's 12th Annual New Directors Showcase, held in connection with the DGA.

Since then, her films - including The Visit, co-starring Oscar® nominee June Squibb and Sean Maher, and Now You See Us: A Coming of a Certain Age Story - have screened at over 100 festivals worldwide, including Oscar® qualifiers such as Cinequest, Saint Louis International, and HollyShorts. Her work has been exhibited in notable venues such as the Robin Williams Center for the SAG-AFTRA Short Film Showcase, TCL Chinese Theater, and the CERN Science Gateway Auditorium in France/Switzerland, garnering more than 50 awards and nominations. Awards include Best Short Film, Best Overall Festival Film, and Best Director.

Following recent collaborations with writer/producer James V. Hart (Bram Stoker's Dracula), two-time Emmy®-winning director/producer Scott Winant (Breaking Bad), Argentine screenwriter Maria Laura Gargarella (Invisible), and composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto (Abuelas, una película sobre y con Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo), Romina is now in development on a Now You See Us spinoff series, as well as her debut feature film.

A die-hard believer in the power of film, community, and what makes us human, Romina is a NYWIFT member and has served as a juror at festivals in the U.S. and Argentina, as well as the Emmy® Awards.

Her work focuses on psychological, female-driven narratives exploring Latina roots, invisibility, self-worth, and identity.
