Victoria DeMartin
Director/ScreenwriterFull Bio
Victoria DeMartin is a writer/director from New York with a BFA in Film production from the Film Conservatory at SUNY Purchase College. During her tenure at Purchase, Victoria wrote and directed four short thesis films each of which screened at festivals nationwide, including one airing on PBS-KVCR in Southern California. During this time she also worked as a development intern for Archer Gray Productions under producer Anne Carey.
After graduating, Victoria worked in various departments on projects ranging from music videos to indie features to television. While Victoria has always been laser-focused on writing and directing, she found her start working in the art department as a production designer and set decorator on local short films, music videos, and notably the 2016 feature film Loserville . She fell in love with episodic storytelling while working on Showtime Network s Billions where she was the post-production assistant on both seasons 1 and 2. From there Victoria worked on NBC s The Blacklist as assistant to the property master on season 5. For the past two years, Victoria has assisted Emmy-award winning writer/director/producer, Gideon Raff (Prisoners of War, Homeland, Tyrant, Dig). As assistant to writer/director/showrunner, Victoria worked on Raff s 2019 film The Red Sea Diving Resort during post-production and on his 2019 Netflix limited series The Spy from pre-production all the way through marketing/release. During post-production on The Spy Victoria also served as the Los Angeles-based post coordinator.
Currently, Victoria is based back home in New York and developing her own period drama series. The pilot for this series has garnered attention from the Sundance Episodic Storytelling lab in 2016 (second round), NYTVF in 2017 (second round), WGA East Made in NY Writers Room Fellowship in 2017 (semi-finalist), and won Ghetto Film School s pitch contest at IFP Week in 2016 (from which she was flown to LA to pitch Lee Daniels). Victoria wrote and directed her fifth short film, Skindiving , which was released and screened at film festivals this year, and in consideration for 2020 festivals. Victoria will round off 2019 by directing a short film written by Jon Comulada (winner of the Roster Teeth Fellowship Award for his screenplay at the 2109 Austin Film Festival).
