Deirdre O’Connor is an independent filmmaker and Associate Professor of Film Studies at SUNY Nassau Community College.  She has written narrative screenplays, produced short documentaries, and most recently wrote, produced, and directed a narrative feature film, One Moment, starring Danny Aiello in his final screen performance. One Moment is distributed by Indican Pictures and Magnolia Home Entertainment and will be released 7/26/22 on Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Direct TV, Google Play, and Vudu.

Full Bio
Deirdre O’Connor is an independent filmmaker and Associate Professor of Film Studies at SUNY Nassau Community College.  After writing narrative screenplays and producing short documentaries for more than twenty years, Deirdre wrote, produced, and directed her first narrative feature film, One Moment, starring Danny Aiello in his final screen performance. One Moment has secured worldwide distribution with Indican Pictures and Magnolia Home Entertainment and will be released 7/26/22 on Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Direct TV, Google Play, and Vudu.
Deirdre holds a Master of Communication Arts from New York Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication Arts from James Madison University. Since 2004, O’Connor has taught film theory and video production classes as a full-time member of the Communications Department at SUNY Nassau Community College in Garden City, NY, currently holding the rank of Associate Professor.
