Full Bio
Elizabeth Raia is a New York City based producer, actress, and screenwriter. She is also an active volunteer crisis counselor for Crisis Text Line, a free, confidential text-messaging service for crisis intervention. In 2018, she began a comprehensive screenwriting accountability group empowering women in the industry to create their own content.
Prior to receiving her BA in Cinema, Television, and Emerging Media and a minor in Business at Marymount Manhattan College, Elizabeth interned in various areas of production, garnering ample time at THE COLBERT REPORT (Comedy Central), ABC Development, Viacom, and the Producers Guild of America (PGA).
In addition to having acted in over 15 independent films in leading and supporting roles, she recently produced the short women s rights film, WAIT, about a young Latina woman who emerges from anesthesia moments after her abortion to find herself in unexpected company. She is currently in post-production for the short film WATERFALL, the story of a young, fantasy-prone writer who dances between the parallels of her reality and a fictional world she has created.
Additionally, Elizabeth is in the early stages of pre-production for short film, YOGURT AND HEROIN, and the feature film, BLOSSOM - she will be producing and acting in both. She is also writing and developing a 13 episode multi-genre scripted anthology series called, DISRUPTOR. Each stand alone episode will highlight the life of a daring woman in history whose legacy has faded with time.
