Christine Baker is a screenwriter, novelist, and ghostwriter who seeks to tell unique stories about women, for women. Her screenplays and novels always center on strong female characters spanning history. Christine takes great pride in this research and historical accuracy of her period scripts, often spending months researching a story and consulting with historical experts before writing a single word.

In addition to writing screenplays, Christine writes contemporary lesbian romance novels, poetry, and short stories under the pseudonym Lucy J. Madison, including A Recipe for Love (Labrador Publishing 2018), Personal Foul (Labrador Publishing 2018 2nd Ed), I.V. Poems (Labrador Publishing 2018 2nd Ed.), and In the Direction of the Sun (Labrador Publishing 2018 2nd Ed.)

Her short stories have appeared in numerous anthologies such as The One: Stories of Falling in Love Forever (Sapphire Books 2016), A Heart Well Traveled Volume 1 (Sapphire Books 2017), and Tales of Travelrotica for Lesbians (Alyson Books 2006).

She s authored many bylined articles. Her interview with WNBA legend Sue Bird was featured as Curve Magazine s September 2017 cover story. Other bylines include The San Francisco Bay Times, Got Game Magazine, Thysia Literary Magazine, Prism Book Alliance Blog, Confluence, The Tipton Poetry Journal, Beginnings Literary Magazine, and The Survivor s Review, among many others.

A former standout college basketball player, Christine is the author of Why She Plays: The World of Women s Basketball (University of Nebraska Press 2008). She is considered an expert on sports journalism for women, Title IX, and women s sports participation, for which the Women s Sports Foundation named her a finalist for a Billie Award in Journalism in 2009.

As a ghostwriter, Christine has worked on several non-fiction titles including one Amazon bestselling leadership book.

Christine received a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University and received the University s prestigious Rulewater Prize for her thesis project.

Christine resides in shoreline Connecticut and Provincetown, MA with her wife, Dara, of 20 years, and their beloved pets. She enjoys hiking, performing random acts of kindness, landscape photography, and cooking.
