Recent Projects and Awards:

2005 - The Men's Room - A 6 minute animated comedy satirizing the Academy Awards 76 years disregarding women directors. It was shown at Canal Plus for the opening of the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. The Men's Room, and officially selected for the 2005 IFP Market in New York City and the Golden Lion Film Festival.

2004 - Paha Sapa: Black Hills - A recently published book for the young audience written by Gladys Bensimon and Sheila Martin Berry, based on the film script written by Gladys Bensimon. Paha Sapa is now available at Barnes & Nobel, Amazon.com, Borders and all the major bookstores, and libraries in New Jersey and New York.

2001-2002 - Man in Red - Feature Film comedy about love, lust and red sexy lingerie. The movie was feature at the New Filmmakers Series at the Anthology Film Archives, Cine-Women, Movie Palooza, and other festivals. Men in Red is presently under a contract for distribution with Frontier Media.

1997 - Phoenix Rising: The Silent Victims Speak. - A Three (3) part series that illuminates domestic violence from the children's perspective. Funded by: The Turrell Fund, The Geraldine R. Dodge & The Johnson & Johnson Corp. Featured in PBS. Silent Victims Speak is presently under distribution by The Bureau for At Risk Women Centers, Educational Institutions, and Children Studies Centers throughout the USA. The projects received Honorable Mentioned at the 1997 National Council on Family Relations - Media Award Competition.

1993 - The Legal Guide Through the Domestic Violence Process - Documentary (30 minutes) Women Aware Inc. The Legal Guide was a winner of the Media Award in Television Documentary from the Middlesex County Commission on Child Abuse and Missing Children, and The Middlesex County Child/Adult Protection Coalition of New Jersey.

1992 - Roll Call- Police Training Video - (50 minutes) Docudrama produced for the New Jersey Coalition for Battered Women, Trenton NJ from a grant from United States Justice Department, Washington, D.C. Program adapted by the Police Academies in New Jersey, Texas, California, New Hampshire, New Zealand, and France.

Gladys Bensimon is a script writer/director, President of a HBR Production Company, a multilingual, digital production company. Working in a wide range of genres, from feature to animation, she wrote and directed the
irreverent Man in Red, and won several awards for her bold documentaries Domestic Violence: The Legal Process, Roll Call, and Silent Victims Speak.
