Gather together online with your NYWIFT colleagues at our March virtual speed networking mixer. We will be joined by our friends from ITVS!
Come ready to share creative ideas, suggestions, and contact info for further engagement.
We will begin the evening with a brief salon conversation with ITVS leaders to discuss their latest funding opportunities and initiatives, followed by an hour of speed networking. The hour will be broken up into smaller chunks of time, during which you will be randomly paired off with other attendees to network one-on-one.
NYWIFT will also offer a discount on membership to any new members who attend that evening.
NYWIFT hangouts are a safe space to ask entertainment related questions, seek advice, employment and other industry opportunities. Prep your elevator pitch and get ready to make connections!
As always, all members are welcome and encouraged to attend and mix, mingle and get to know our dynamic and talented members and staff in an informal setting.

New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) advocates for equality in the moving image industry and supports women in every stage of their careers. As the preeminent entertainment industry association for women in New York, NYWIFT energizes women by illuminating their achievements, presenting training and professional development programs, awarding scholarships and grants, and providing access to a supportive community of peers. Salon Talk Presenters
Keri Archer Brown is the Director of Content and Initiatives for ITVS. She is responsible for oversight and management of ITVS’ Open Call Funding Initiatives and team while also informing strategy and implementation for ITVS’ Diversity Development Fund Initiative and Short-Form Open Call. In addition to her role managing Initiatives, Keri maintains a portfolio of development projects, identifies projects and talent for potential ITVS support and co-production, represents ITVS content strategy, and collects and analyzes critical data that informs and supports content, business development, and institutional strategies. With deep production, development, and management experience as both a line producer and an executive, Keri has worked in both capacities at ITV America/Sirens Media as well as at Discovery Studios for Discovery Communications’ networks such as Discovery Channel, Investigation Discovery, Animal Planet, TLC and Velocity. Complementing her background in content development and production, she also has roots in Public Relations and Marketing, having led award-winning campaigns for AmeriCorps’ City Year/MetroTeenAIDS partnership and served clients such as the NAACP, National Urban League and Freddie Mac.
Yvonne Russo is an award-winning producer, director, and writer of film and television specializing in inspirational Indigenous and cross-cultural stories. As an independent producer, Russo has worked on a diverse range of productions in over 16 countries from Rajasthan, India to Rwanda. She is currently directing Ring of Fire: The Life of Annie Mae Aquash and currently in post-production on VIVA VERDI! Recent credits include Woman Walks Ahead; the HBO mini-series Lewis and Clark and Rescuers: Heroes of the Holocaust. She’s a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Producers Guild of America She is also a Sundance Institute Lab Fellow and Tribeca All Access Program Fellow and is on the board of The Language Conservancy, which works to revitalize endangered languages. She’s a contributing author for The Huffington Post and Produced By Magazine. Yvonne Russo is a member of the Sicangu Lakota Tribal Nation and the VP of Membership on the NYWIFT Board of Directors.
