Film touches on aspects such as women s roles, childbearing, agriculture, traditional healing, and the depletion of native forests due to over-population.

Shot entirely in Madagascar, film focuses on the efforts of three distinct conservation sectors that center around the community of Andasibe. Due to the archaic farming practices of slash and burn agriculture, it is estimated that less than five percent of native forests remain. The film spotlights community education, the reforestation of old growth forests, and the preservation of remaining local lands.
