Full Bio
Amy Leland is in her seventeenth year as a stage director. After receiving a BA in English from Rice University in Houston, TX, she began working in various community and regional theaters in Houston and the Hartford, CT, area. Directing credits include The Lover, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Masterpieces, Cloud Nine, West Side Story, The Normal Heart, and As Is. Original plays include The Butcher of Plainfield, A Life With Ike, and A Thousand Wednesdays, all by Steve Nicholas Valentino's Wing by Mark Borkowski Winged Victoria by Tiffany Hodges as well as two entries in the Samuel French Off-Off-Broadway Theater Festival.

Amy is also a film/video director and editor. She is currently working on several projects, including directing and producing her first feature film and documentary, and editing for two web series projects. She is also one of the editors for Bravo TV's Inside the Actors Studio. Amy is an Apple Certified Trainer in Final Cut Pro, Color, and Motion, and teaches classes to aspiring editors and post-production professionals.

Amy completed an MFA degree in directing at the Actors Studio Drama School in 2005. She was the recipient of a three year drama scholarship during graduate school, as well as the Board of Governors Scholar award, and was chosen as the school's 2004 nominee to the Princess Grace Foundation. After graduation Amy was invited to join The Actors Studio's Playwright and Directors' Workshop. She was nominated twice for an Ockrent Fellowship through SSDC.

Amy is the founder of Summer Woman Productions, a production company dedicated to bringing the works of new writers to life through film, theater production and music video. The company also provides video editing and videography services to artists and other clients.
