Full Bio
Rice has written and directed numerous short films and two digital pilots. She recently completed the pilot for Division Street, a digital series focused on a withdrawn young girl sent to live with her cranky grandmother in a magical neighborhood in Manhattan. Division Street screened at the 2019 Slamdance Film Festival and in competition at SeriesFest and Raindance. It was an Official Selection at ITVFest in Manchester Vermont and it was selected to be part of the FilmShop Collective s 2018 Breakthrough Series. Rice was nominated for Best Director at Stareable Fest and Division Street was nominated for Best Pilot at the NY Web Fest.

She studied at the FAMU Film Institute in Prague, Czech Republic, through an exchange program at American University, and at the Vancouver Film School in Vancouver, BC. Her first short film, The Night Tram, set on a midnight train to Prague hijacked by a gypsy band, was nominated for a Student Academy Award. She was a co-leader of the film collective, FilmShop, for four seasons, and she serves on the Board of Directors of the Lower East Side Film Festival. Rice teaches filmmaking workshops to military veterans with the non-profit organization Patton Veterans Project.

Rice has a foundation in theater, having directed many live productions, including a recent production of Paula Vogel's Indecent, at Alley Repertory Theater in Boise, ID.

Sundance New Voices Lab finalist with Division Street. Austin Film Festival Second-Rounder in script competition with Division Street. Short film, Side Effects, won the Audience Award at the Boston Sci-Fi Fest and Best Actress at HollyShorts.
