Alanna Blair

Alanna Blair

Full Bio
Alanna Blair specializes in the unexpected.

You may have seen her take a fall for her student in New Amsterdam, or scream at her ex in Blue Bloods. Dig a little deeper and you'll find a reptilian bassist determined to break up the band (LES Asides), a pregnant sister in full heroin recovery mode (Spring Street), and a lost soul wandering the LA canals (Frogtown). An ongoing collaboration with improv-focused filmmaker Daniel Kremer spans six films to date.

In apocalyptic short film Prime Matter, Alanna's character Celia is stuck between her frantic sister and a free shuttle bus. Alanna was also Prime Matter's cowriter and sound editor.

Stage projects include a solo adaptation of The Waste Land (Edinburgh Fringe Festival) and Above Us, a devised two-woman rooftop drama (New York Fringe Festival). Her cameo as Becky on a Mission in Unrepresentable is a call to action for white women to demand intersectional feminism in the entertainment industry.

Alanna sports a BFA from CalArts, with New York training from Apartment 929 and The Barrow Group. She also produces and djs electronic bass music as TGRbass, plays bass guitar and piano, and co-runs DeBlair Foster through Anjellicle Cat Rescue.
