Kenneth Nochimson is an attorney with broad experience in communications in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. He has founded and directed successful for-profit and non-profit organizations and headed a government agency. He serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of a national non-profit communications organization and holds an academic appointment.

Throughout his career, Mr. Nochimson has sought to positively impact public policies and in particular, improve health care through effective use of media communications, extend the reach and influence of thought leaders and develop programs that encourage the spread of innovation and critical thinking.

Advise & Consent, Inc. is an educational communications company that collaborates with thought leaders and innovators to improve the quality of health care. Programs address all factors affecting the delivery of healthcare services, including management, policy, health economics, legal, regulatory, ethical and patient-centered concerns. Programs are developed with foundation and private sector support.

A recent documentary program produced by Advise & Consent:

Putting Quality Into Practice - Physicians: In Their Own Voices

Funded by the Commonwealth Fund and the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation, this documentary media program focuses on physicians using modern management processes and electronic medical records to dramatically improve quality and patient satisfaction. The DVD program has been widely disseminated and endorsed by health care leaders and standard setting organizations including NCQA.

Advise & Consent Post-Production
Advise & Consent has an AVID Media Composer Suite in SoHo. In addition to producing its own work, the suite is available for other productions. Numerous documentaries have been edited there including the recent film, City Dreams, by Director Chiara Clemente.

QualityMetric, founded by Dr. John Ware of the Tufts University School of Medicine, is the leading provider of health surveys that permit patients to assess their functional health status and measure health outcomes over time. The company invented breakthrough software technology allowing health surveys to be administered via the Internet in clinical settings and at home. The health surveys are considered gold standards and are utilized by Medicare, standard setting organizations and health care providers worldwide.

Mr. Nochimson developed educational media programs that facilitate the use of the surveys and built strategic relationships with non-profit and for-profit organizations to broaden use of patient-reported health surveys. He also helped raise venture capital for the company and developed business relationships with pharmaceutical and biotech companies. (See qualitymetric.net)

Mr. Nochimson produced and distributed Understanding Health Outcomes, a 15- part multimedia educational series accredited by Tufts University School of Medicine. This series was endorsed by thought leaders and is considered the gold standard for educating health professionals on this subject.

Partnering with Dr. Donald Berwick of Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health, Mr. Nochimson produced Managing Medical Quality, a 6-part video and print management series on quality improvement. This series helped spark the quality movement in health care. Dr. Berwick now leads the Institute for HealthCare Improvement (ihi.org).

Prior to working in the private sector, Mr. Nochimson served in high level positions in two Mayoral administrations in New York City and was the founding Executive Director of a national non-profit organization.

Mr. Nochimson lives and works in New York City.
