Submit your information today! We will be reaching out to potential volunteers next week!
She Should Run, a non-partisan 501(c)3 with the mission to expand the talent pool of women running for office in the United States, is partnering with NYWIFT for an in-person workshop session for 10-15 members of its Incubator program. The Incubator program is a nationwide community of women leaders, guided with a set of online courses to start their path to public service. Many are already community change-makers, leaders in their fields or workplaces and interested in running for a local office.
On November 12th, She Should Run will host an in-person workshop session, in partnership with HBO, to help 10-15 women enrolled in the Incubator program find their unique voice and share/capture their authentic story. Many of the women enrolled in the program consider a run for office but struggle to find value in their own story. This workshop will help them break through those barriers.
We are seeking NYWIFT members to join the workshop to film and edit the Incubator members’ stories to share with the larger She Should Run community, helping to inspire the next generation of women elected leaders. Interested members should be experienced filmmakers, videographers and content creators, willing to attend the Incubator workshop and film on-site. An interest in political or campaign content is also encouraged. Members will then edit footage into short-form videos that will be shared across She Should Run social channels, events/activations and NYWIFT social channels.
Submission Guidelines:
If you are interested in attending and filming/editing video content, (and available on November 12th from 3pm-6pm), please submit a resume and short video reel to communications@nywift.org. Please also share any interest or background in political or campaign videos.
Up to 15 NYWIFT members may be selected to attend and participate. Members will be notified by October 24th.
About She Should Run:
Founded in 2011, She Should Run is a non-partisan 501(c)3 with the mission to expand the talent pool of women running for office in the United States. Women are underrepresented at all levels in the 500,000+ elected offices across the U.S. That is why She Should Run is committed to getting at least 250,000 women to run by 2030. #250kby2030
She Should Run programs provide an approachable starting place and network for women leaders considering a future run by providing community, resources, and growth opportunities. We believe that women of all political leanings, ethnicities, and backgrounds should have an equal opportunity to lead in elected office and that our democracy will benefit from the varied perspectives and experiences that women bring to leadership.
