Dear NYWIFT Members,
We wanted to reach out to you regarding The Inspiration Room, an experiential event in New York City, that will be the centerpiece of NYWIFT partner HBO’s 2019 Women’s History Month celebration this March. We are looking for your stories!
In its simplest form, The Inspiration Room will be a space filled with real stories from a wide range of women, and we’d love for you to participate in any way you may be comfortable.
HBO will be collecting diaries, pages of diaries, journals, letters, script notes, blog-entries. photographs etc. You can even write something new for the event about a subject matter you’ve always wanted to talk about e.g. ambition, success, love, fear, resilience, luck, or anything really.

- The Inspiration Room is a tribute to the complexity of real women, their stories, and their experiences. We are continually inspired by women from all walks of life, and we want to create a place that celebrates them.
- We plan on filling the room with stories from everyday women, college students, historical archives, celebrities, influencers, PLUS our HBO talent (in front of, and behind the camera).
- The room will be open to the public for a week and all entries will be on display. We do ask that entries not include the real names of actual people or anything that could easily identify a person. If included, that information may be redacted for the event.
- The room will be organized by emotion, host speaker series and events, interactive installations, and multi-media exhibits.
