Award-winning indie filmmaker Becca Roth will walk you through the basics of making an indie film from start to finish. Becca has directed both narrative and documentary films, she will walk you through her experiences navigating the creation and distribution of both. Topics covered:

About Becca
Becca Roth is an award-winning narrative and documentary filmmaker who has written and directed films that have screened at film festivals and in communities worldwide. Check out her work here: www.beccaroth.com/
Becca wrote a narrative feature screenplay, Margo & Perry, which has received two overall ratings of 8 on The Black List and is currently a top 25 finalist in The Tracking-Board Launch Pad Competition.
In April 2019, Becca directed The Book of Ruth, starring Tony and Emmy nominee Tovah Feldshuh, which is now in post-production. In 2017 she wrote, co-directed and starred in Lenses, an award-winning short that had a weeklong run at IFC center, playing in the pre-show before all features.
Becca directed a documentary series, The Difference, for the Academy Award-winning documentary producers Shine Global. She directed an episode The Election Effect, a Webby-nominated series about the impact of the 2016 election on teens across America.
Becca’s debut documentary feature, One: A Story of Love and Equality, delves into the personal stories of people on both sides of a heated political debate, and strives to understand differences and build bridges.
In 2018, Becca became the director of a documentary project featuring long term survivors of pancreatic cancer for an organization called Let’s Win.
