Andrea Ocampo is an award-winning filmmaker who believes the best stories are chosen — not fed to you by an algorithm. Her directorial debut Starlit, a female-driven coming-of-age film, won eight awards including Best Director and Best Cinematography, with recognition from the Government of San Juan, Argentina.
As a cinematographer and media producer, she has directed documentary work around the world for a major international organization — human rights, climate, humanitarian crisis.
Today she is the founder of VertyFlicks, a filmmaker-first platform bringing curated vertical cinema to the screens audiences already watch, and giving short films a home beyond the festival circuit. A first-generation, LGBTQ+ Latina storyteller of Colombian heritage based in New York, she builds on one conviction: Human taste is the last thing worth protecting.
