Terry’s Picks: FS2P Applications, Employment Practices, Moving On

FS2P Applications: Applications for the NYWIFT From Script to Pre-Production program are now available. This lab is for women writer-directors who are ready to make narrative features but need some help putting together pitch packages.

Employment Practices: The NYS Film Tax Credit Program, as of June, includes an Employment Practices Form as part of the application process. The form asks productions to detail whether they have an established code of conduct for crew and talent and also outlines certain best practices as guidance for including in codes of conduct. The form highlights the need for employers to clearly explain what constitutes sexual harassment in the workplace, offers multiple internal and external avenues for reporting violations and creates a way to collect information on production companies’ policies.

Moving On: I announced last week that I will conclude my 21-year tenure at NYWIFT’s Executive Director at the end of December. I have met many talented and committed women during my time here and have made life-long friends. Though I am excited to be moving on to new adventures, I will always cherish my time at NYWIFT.
