NYWIFT Announces 2015 Designing Women Honorees

NEW YORK, NY, May 11, 2015 – New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT), which has supported the advancement of women in the entertainment industry for over 37 years, will pay tribute to renowned costume designers, makeup artists and hair stylists in film, television and digital media at the 2015 New York Women in Film & Television Designing Women Awards Gala on the evening of Thursday, May 28. The 15th annual event, co-presented by Variety, is a unique showcase that celebrates the creative intersection of design, character and storytelling, and brings together actors, producers, directors, writers, fashion industry influencers and designers.
New York Women in Film & Television’s Designing Women will take place in the Scholastic Building in SoHo starting at 7 p.m. The awards program will feature a display of costumes and sketches, as well as photographs and film clips highlighting the work of the talented honorees. A special reception will follow the presentation.

The Variety Ensemble Award will be given to the makeup, hair and costume design team of Orange Is the New Black.
