Does Your Image Represent Your Brand? Career Focus Committee Invites You to an Image Transition Salon
Personal and HD Makeup Design in 2 Sessions:
Create consistency in your brand presentation—you! Your “look” is as important for your professional interactions, social or otherwise, as it is for your marketing materials. Consider the impact of your profile photo, headshot, even iPhone candids caught on set or shot at a NYWIFT event. Maybe you are heading into new areas of the industry, redoing your look for a different environment, a change in your career path, an interview, or maybe you just want a new image. Maybe you are an actor and need to do an HD audition or your own make-up on an HD shoot. How do you adapt your look or “brand” on-set, at a screening Q&A, or for a first-time meeting with a director? Whatever you need, this two-session salon will cover the essentials!
Offered by NYWIFT Member Jennifer Snowdon, an HD makeup artist for Film, TV, and more, this intimate “field-trip” to the Makeup Forever Pro Store will help you learn simple makeup techniques that will support the "reel-life" roles you want.
You may attend one or both salon sessions, but you must sign up for each one separately. Space is limited and is open to NYWIFT members only.
Career Focus Makeup
Date: Saturday, Jan. 19
In this session, Jennifer will take salon attendees from very simple makeup to more classic. She will discuss and demonstrate how looks can be adapted for different aspects of your life—from the office, to luncheon award banquets, to doing a Q&A at a screening, to attending a networking event, to being in front of an HD camera. After observing makeup applications on fellow salon attendees to learn basic techniques, there will be time to ask Jennifer about the particulars of your own personal “brand.” Then, shop for products to create your look, with the help of Jennifer, the staff at Makeup Forever, and an in-store discount of 20%. Limited to 15 NYWIFT Members.
Actors! HD Makeup for Video Auditioning
Time: 3:30-5:30 pm
These days, auditions are often to a video camera or captured on your own computer. For this session, Jennifer will demonstrate HD makeup application on different skin tones—one with a natural look and one more defined, yet classic. This will give salon attendees the basic techniques. Afterward, Jennifer will answer your individual “brand” questions and concerns, giving some specific tips and solutions. Then, you choose the products to make it all happen, assisted by Jennifer, the staff at Makeup Forever, and an in-store discount of 20%. Limited to 15 NYWIFT Members.
Location for both sessions:
Makeup Forever Pro Store
8 East 12th St. (between 5th Ave. and University Place)
New York, NY 10003
NYWIFT programs, screenings and events are supported, in part, by grants from New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
