Help Women Make Movies Win $1 Million in Chase American Giving Awards by Dec. 4
Women Make Movies (WMM) is thrilled to announce that they have been selected as one of 25 nonprofits to compete for $1,000,000 through the American Giving Awards, presented by Chase.
They were chosen for “outstanding contributions to human rights and social services” in the Heroes and Leaders category, the only film or women’s organization chosen! This means they have a 1 in 5 chance of winning a minimum of $125,000 and a chance at the $1,000,000 grand prize.
They only have until Dec. 4 to garner as many votes as possible. But they can't do it without the help of friends and supporters: they need your votes on Facebook or on the Chase website—and even both if you’re a Chase customer! It was thanks to all of you that they were winners in the 2011 Chase Community Challenge and received $25,000 to continue their mission to help women filmmakers and to bring their films to audiences worldwide.
Vote now to help Women Make Movies win $1,000,000.
If you're a Chase customer, you can vote a second time here; just look for WMM in the Heroes and Leaders category.
Your vote will help them continue to bring movies by women filmmakers that tackle vital social issues to audiences worldwide. WMM hopes to reach 40,000,000 by using the best possible resources in social media and technology to create a digital distribution platform. They can build a sustainable solution for storytelling, dialogue and possibilities to CREATE, EDUCATE, INSPIRE & EMPOWER. WMM believes more films by women equals positive social change for everyone.
Women Make Movies and its Executive Director Debra Zimmerman are both honorees at our upcoming Muse Awards on Dec. 13 at Hilton New York.
NYWIFT programs, screenings and events are supported, in part, by grants from New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
