NYWIFT Member Annie Coburn's Film Five Points Is on Kickstarter
In order to raise initial funds for a planned three episode webseries, Annie Coburn has created a Kickstarter campaign for Five Points, a comedy–horror short film about the revenge of the roadkill. Five Points is about the little guy rising up against the big guy. It’s David and Goliath.

It’s like the sports movie with the little team that overcomes through sheer heart meets the Dirty Dozen. The protagonists just happen to be zombie squirrels.

Visit the Kickstarter page.

This project will only be funded if at least $10,000 is pledged by Sunday, May 20, at 9:36 pm ET.

Synopsis
In Five Points, Derrick the Squirrel Killer is crunching cute little squirrels under his pick up truck for the fun of it. Fed up, a badger calls forth supernatural powers to raise the dead bunnies and squirrels…and it’s like the Muppets coming back from the dead and turning into Clint Eastwood. Derrick ends up having a very bad day.

This funding will go to creating the zombie squirrel puppets, and will help to pay for the director of photography, transportation, food, and insurance.

Annie Coburn’s past short film Pretty All the Time was seen at Cleveland International Film Festival 2012, and its script won DC Shorts 2009. The short is a finalist at American University Visions Festival for Outstanding Fiction Film. Coburn is a recent MFA graduate from American University.
