The New Patrons: Earning a Living With Corporate Video Content
With audiences moving from traditional outlets to digital and social media, brands are increasingly playing the role of producers and publishers. Somewhat like the art patrons of the Renaissance, brands are utilizing the skills of creative talent to tell their story in compelling, innovative and creative ways.
For creators, this shift opens new possibilities as they seek to obtain the funding necessary to realize an artistic vision.

Anita Allison is a Brooklyn-based independent film producer and Executive Producer at Bain & Co. She began her film career in San Francisco where she directed short films and started a film festival. She moved to Hawaii and immersed herself in Oahu's television and film production scene. In 2004 Allison moved to New York City and worked with various companies such as Lee Daniels Entertainment (Monster's Ball, Precious) and Sundance Channel. In addition to running the global video department at Bain & Co., she recently launched her company, Stinger Films.
Ina Burke is Executive Producer of Branded Content at Digitas and has overseen such illustrious programs as American Express' Unstaged, The Sync Show featuring Jay Z, Kraft's Mom Life, as well as activations with the National Basketball Association and U.S. Open Tennis. Before coming to New York, Burke worked in film and television in Los Angeles.
Megan Cunningham is Founder and CEO of Magnet Media, an award-winning content solutions provider that produces video and interactive content for many of the world’s top brands. She is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences; has served on the NYWIFT board of directors; was a Columbia School of Journalism Punch Sulzberger Fellow; and is the author of The Art of the Documentary.
Elizabeth Gay is Executive Director of Production Services at JPMorgan Chase & Co. With 23 years in the corporate space managing productions, she has experience hiring and managing production companies from large staging events in stadiums to hotel ballrooms, studio shoots and location shoots. She’s hired and managed full production crews of 30 or more to work on events as well as ENG and post house staffing for corporate in-house agencies.
Moderator and NYWIFT board member Esmée Einerson is a Digital Media and Content Producer for J.P. Morgan Asset Management, creating unique campaigns and branded channels on iTunes, YouTube and Twitter for the company. Einerson has worked in TV, film and commercial production and co-founded Stage Shadows, an audio theater company that produced live radio drama at The Museum of Television & Radio and broadcast on WFUV-FM New York.
