Call For Submissions: Etheria Film Festival
Deadline: May 31, 2013
The Viscera Organization offers a completely different type of genre film festival with the sci-fi and fantasy Etheria Festival.
If accepted, all of the leg work is done for you in regards to getting your film screened in as many places around the world as possible. The Viscera Organization is the only non-profit organization in existence that screens female directed/produced genre films domestically and internationally. We exist
for the female genre filmmaker to create education, networking, opportunities, and equality.
Etheria submissions are open from December 1st, 2012 through May 31st, 2013.
The event takes place in September, 2013 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Filmmakers will be notified on or around July 1, 2013 of their acceptance.
It is completely free to enter!
GENDER
Either the Director or both the Producer and Writer must be female.
For example, a male may direct the film as long as the Producer and Writer are female, and a man may be the writer as long as a woman is the director. We encourage women-directed films.
*Transgendered women or those who identify strongly with the female gender are encouraged to apply.
GENRE
The Viscera Film Festival specifically accepts and screens science fiction and fantasy films by women. The Viscera Organization hosts two other genre festivals for female filmmakers: the Viscera Film Festival (horror films by women), and Full Throttle Film Festival (action films by women). If the submitted film is more suited for these other festivals, the Viscera Organizations' programming department will contact the submitter.
LENGTH
The Etheria festival plays a lineup of roughly 10-15 short films, and one main feature film selection. You may submit either a feature or a film with this form.
1. Short Film Competition
Films are between 20 seconds and 20 minutes in length.
2. Main Feature Film
Films are between 30 minutes and 120 minutes in length.
* A filmmaker may enter as many films as they want for the 2013 competition, both shorts and features - there is no limit.
