FUGUE

Inspired by the real neurological link between sleepwalking and “blacking out” – the amnesia-like side effect of heavy drinking – Fugue investigates the darker nature of escapist pop culture via Jane, an ex-alcoholic somnambulist, whose dreams are slowly bleeding into her reality.
What begins as a contemplation on addiction evolves into a deeper examination of “checking out.” Fugue is framed by a subtle science fiction, a neurological fluke whereby the escapism encouraged by our culture becomes a literal possibility. Through Jane’s eyes we experience the physical extension of this abstraction—two realities, and one choice: Which life to live, and which to leave behind?"
