Our ExperTEAs guest for December is DP Kirsten Johnson. Johnson is a cinematographer with over 25 years of experience. She has traveled to over 86 countries for her work. Her credits include the Academy Award-winning Citizenfour and The Oath (both films with Dir: Laura Poitras), The Invisible War and Derrida (Dir: Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering), Pray the Devil Back to Hell (Dir: Gini Reticker, Prod: Abby Disney), 1971 (Dir: Johanna Hamilton), Farenheit 9/11 (Dir: Michael Moore), Profit and Nothing But! and Fatal Assistance (Dir: Raoul Peck).
Johnson's most recent project Cameraperson draws from footage of films she shot for others over the last 25 years. Cameraperson is an official selection of the 2016 Sundance Film Festival's New Frontier program.
Share a cup of tea and conversation with Johnson who will speak candidly about her road to achievement and the lessons she's learned along the way. You’ll have the opportunity to ask her questions, as well as network with fellow members in a friendly and intimate setting.
