Are you considering crowdfunding to raise money for your creative projects? Not all platforms are alike; some are better for women.
Join Jane Applegate, a NYWIFT member and producer, for an interactive, hands-on lunchtime workshop. She will reveal proven strategies for leveraging your personal network to raise money for your film, television pilot or transmedia project.
Jane Applegate is Director of Strategic Partners at Plum Alley. She has been writing and producing films, corporate videos and television projects for over 20 years. She is one of America's most respected small business experts and is the author of four books on entrepreneurial success. Applegate was a reporter and producer for CNN, CNBC and Bloomberg TV. She is currently producing The Lighthouse Project (working title), a feminist drama set in the 1870s, written, produced, and directed by Erica Fae. The project features Fae as Abbie Moore, and will be shot this summer in Jonesport, Maine. To raise additional funds for a short documentary about the making of the film, Fae and Applegate will launch a campaign on PlumAlley.co, a new crowdfunding platform devoted exclusively to raising capital for women.
