Jacqueline, a sensual artist, free spirited marches to her own drum of love, work, and living with her mistakes. During her struggle in loving her earthy, aloof husband, she ishaving a platonic affair with a wild, witty old friend, David, who is in prisonfor growing marijuana. He incites her with freedom. She and her husband splitup and she becomes involved with David, but without the former constraints, she finds the relationship ant-climactic. He is charming, loving, but she sees that the real passion is within. She turns to her own passions, writing and its discontents, New York, the ocean, travel, work, — journeying through all these, wrangling with love lost (her marriage), love desired, and what is the essence of love. She leaves David and finds a man who is like her – who himself cannot be attained. Instead, they work together. This unflinching narrative is a journey through an artist’s mind and life, taking us outside the usual confines, to lovers and ex-husbands, solitude, money and the importance of inner rebellion.
