NYWIFT at the Human Rights Film Festival: Member Discount

The Human Rights Watch Film Festival encourages filmmakers around the world to address human rights subject matter in their work. NYWIFT is proud to be co-presenting three important films by women filmmakers at this year's festival taking place June 14-28 at the Film Society of Lincoln Center Walter Reade Theater.

NYWIFT members get the $9 affiliate rate for the following three films!*

Brother Number One (New York premiere)
By Annie Goldson
Through Rob Hamill's story of his brother's death at the hands of the Khmer Rouge, the film explores how the regime and its followers killed nearly 2 million Cambodians between 1975 and 1979. Screenings: June 19, 8:45 pm, June 20, 4 pm & June 21, 6:30 pm. Discussion with filmmaker to follow. Buy tickets.

Escape Fire: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare
(New York premiere) Directed and produced by NYWIFT member Susan Froemke and Matthew Heineman
The film tackles one of the most pressing issues of our time: how can the United States save its badly broken healthcare system? Screenings: June 24 and 25, 6:30 pm & June 27, 4 pm. Discussion with filmmakers to follow. Buy tickets.

The Invisible War (New York premiere)
Directed by Kirby Dick and produced by Amy Ziering
This groundbreaking investigative documentary is about the shameful and underreported epidemic of rape within the US military. Screenings: June 18, 8:45 pm & June 20, 6:30 pm. Discussion with filmmakers to follow. Buy tickets.
