Call for Entries: BET and Urbanworld TV Script Competition
Deadline: July 15

If you think you have what it takes to write for the small screen, this is your chance! Aspiring TV show writers have an opportunity to win $5,000!

BET Networks invites writers to enter their TV-length (half-hour or hour) scripts for the opportunity to win $5,000. Scripts must present an original idea for a potential TV series. The deadline is Sunday, July 15, 2012.

The script contest is open to US residents age 18 and over who do not have any teleplays currently under development at a network, studio or major production company and meet all other criteria in the official rules. Scripts must be between 35 and 45 pages in length and in a proper teleplay format to be eligible.

Writers can enter by completing the submission form located via the Withoutabox link here and submitting the executed Submission Agreement along with the script.

A jury of BET executives and industry professionals will narrow the pool of entrants down to five semi-finalists. These semi-finalist teleplays will be presented to the jury and a scene of each script will be read during the Urbanworld Film Festival (Sept. 19-23, 2012, in NYC). One winner will be selected, who will receive the $5,000 Grand Prize.
