| Dance Films Association's 38th Annual, Internationally Touring Dance On Camera Festival
The Dance Films Association's 38th Annual Dance on Camera Festival celebrates the innovation of choreographers who are increasingly choosing the short film as their preferred medium. Women directors dominate this year's festival, particularly in the shorts category, and many will be present to introduce their work. New York Women In Film & Television is co-sponsoring the Awards Ceremony/Short Film Category Screening and a Reception following the films.
Come experience this exciting synergy of movies and dance with a screening that includes works from the Netherlands, Canada, USA and Spain. Among them: winner of the 2009 Toronto Film Festival Shorts Category, Danse Macabre, introduced by producer Catherine Chagnon; Jackie & Judy, produced by NYWIFT member Tanja Meding, featuring choreographers Rosanne Chamecki and Andrea Lerner, and Sunscreen Serenade, an EMPAC commission, choreographed and directed by Kriota Willberg as an homage to Busby Berkeley.
The Dance Films Association's 38th Annual Dance on Camera Festival, in conjunction with the Film Society of Lincoln Center, runs January 29 to February 2, 2010, at the Walter Reade Theater, Lincoln Center Plaza.
For a NYWIFT member discount, RSVP to DFA by January 28, 2010 at info@dancefilms.org.
