GLORY DAYS - A Tradition of Achievement
By Janus Adams
DONATE NOW
GLORY DAYS is a three-part documentary film that celebrates the history of African American women. Interweaving stories of lives lived against the grain of oppression - of racism, sexism, caste and class - GLORY DAYS adds texture to our understanding of American history. Its lens on little-known historic episodes reveals a legacy achievement by African American women in every field: education, social movements, politics, religion, invention, exploration, business, human rights, the arts, culture and more.
Based on the trilogy of books by Janus Adams (the film's co-executive producer), GLORY DAYS is the first film documentary to feature the expanse of African American women's history from the African American woman's point of view. Director: Julie Dash.
