Introduction to Screenwriting For Actors

This workshop is geared towards actors, writers and anyone else who wants to write their own short or web series. You'll learn which ideas are right for each medium, find out how to create compelling characters that will help you shine as an actor, and discover the secrets to making your project “stand out” in a competitive industry.

Instructor Jessica Rotondi has designed writing exercises that will fire up your imagination and demonstrate how to write in a cinematic way. Plus participants will have the opportunity to pitch their stories and character ideas for group discussion.

Jessica Rotondi
is a writer, director, actress and casting director. She has worked for a variety of production companies and casting directors, including Magnet Entertainment where she assisted on the film Adaptation. A web series she wrote has been optioned recently by a television network. Other career highlights include: Sundance Writers Lab semi-finalist, Student Academy nominee, Audience Choice Award winner in the Columbia Film Festival, and an award winner in the New York TV Festival (NYTVF). Rotondi has worked as a screenwriting teacher and script doctor for a number of schools and companies and is currently developing a TV pilot and two feature scripts.
