This one will be killer! You won’t want to miss this opportunity to hear from a woman who co-founded her own independent production company, has won major awards in both film and television and continues to be both extraordinary and prolific. Christine Vachon, co-founder - with partner Pamela Koffler - of indie powerhouse Killer Films, is an Independent Spirit Award and Gotham Award winner. And on Killer’s 10th anniversary in 2005, the company was feted with a retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art. No wonder she’s also a NYWIFT Muse awardee.
For almost two decades, Vachon and Koffler have produced some of the most celebrated American indie features, including Academy Award winning films Far From Heaven, Boys Don't Cry, One Hour Photo, Hedwig And The Angry Inch, Happiness and Safe. In television, Vachon recently executive-produced the Emmy and Golden Globe winning miniseries Mildred Pierce for HBO. Upcoming releases include At Any Price starring Dennis Quaid and Zac Efron, directed by Ramin Bahrani; Kill Your Darlings starring Daniel Radcliffe, directed by John Krokidas; Magic Magic starring Michael Cera, directed by Sebastian Silva; The Last Of Robin Hood starring Dakota Fanning, Susan Sarandon and Kevin Kline, directed by Wash Westmoreland and Richard Glatzer; and Innocence starring Sophie Curtis, Kelly Reilly and Graham Phillips, directed by Hilary Brougher.
Doors open at 8:30 am. Please do not arrive prior to that time.
Produced by the Power Player Breakfast Committee: Barbara Alpert, Christina Brown, Carey Graeber, Julie Poll, Janet Stilson and Susan Wagner.
